Usually the best deals at Caribbean resorts are for the largest places that have a 15-story tower and 500 or more rooms, so it’s great to report an amazing deal as a tiny and exclusive beach resort like this. The Coconut Beach Club in St. John’s on Antigua is currently offering rooms at 50% off its already low rates for the coming months, with an all-inclusive deal for ony US$191 per night per couple.
This is a 3-star resort so you won’t confuse it with a Ritz Carlton, but it has only 38 total rooms so you are likely to be friends with half the people staying there after your week is over.
A Deluxe Beachfront room at the Coconut Beach Club in Antigua with the all inclusive plan for two people for only US$191 per night.
This rate is through Expedia, which is our booking partner, and the best source of Caribbean deals. It includes free cancellation so risks are low even if it turns out you can’t get a good airfare deal. There is no minimum stay required to get the 50% off, so you could go for a long weekend if you like.
Relaxed boutique resort for adults
It might already be obvious, but the Coconut Beach Club caters only to adults and teens, so this would be a bad choice for families. So with that in mind, it’s an ideal choice for people who prefer not to spend a week getting splashed by the pool and hearing young ones screaming all the time.
Each of the 38 rooms is beach front, with a kingsize bed and a balcony or patio with a hammock, but no TV in any of the rooms. This is a place to relax in peace and quiet, so it’s not for everyone but it’s ideal for many. You can actually choose a room-only rate for US$154 per night per couple, but it seems pretty obvious that paying the extra US$37 per day for all meals and drinks per couple is the better deal, unless you are a teetotaler on a diet.
Still many water sports to choose from
One weakness with some of these smaller resorts is that they don’t have some of the most popular activities available, but the Coconut Beach Club has a swimming pool, snorkeling, kayaking, saiing, and even tennis, and all are included in the rate. There’s also a spa available at an extra charge.
The main beach restaurant has breakfast and lunch buffets, and at night the Bamboo Room, which is also open-air on the beach, has a la carte dinners on most nights plus special buffets on certain nights. They ask that men dress in long pants and collared shirts after 7pm, so you can see that this is not a resort for slobs, even though it’s cheap enough that you might assume it’s anything goes.
