Regular readers of this column know that we’ve been focusing mostly on the amazing deals that are available during the off season, but today we can focus on some of the fantastic deals that are available in the high season, because there isn’t much difference. The Park Royal Acapulco Resort is still running a promotion with rooms at 30% off in December, so now might be a good time to book.
One of the slightly tricky things about the all inclusive resorts in Acapulco is that a few of the cheapest ones are really no good. We won’t recommend a resort that gets poor guest reviews regardless of price because it’s just not worth flying thousands of miles to stay at a place that regularly disappoints its guests. So the good news is that the Park Royal Acapulco is among the best.
A Deluxe Room with Balcony at the Park Royal Acapulco Resort for US$173 per night for two people in December.
This rate is only available through our booking partner, Expedia, and it includes free cancellation and does not require a longer stay, so it’s available even for weekend trips.
A secluded resort in the best area of Acapulco
It’s a sensitive topic, but it needs to be mentioned that resorts in Acapulco are cheaper than some other parts of Mexico this year because there have been one or two episodes of violence in the news, unlike most other resort areas. What the news doesn’t tell you is that hundreds of thousands have come and gone since those events, without any problems. There are episodes of violence in New York City and Los Angeles ever day, yet tourists keep streaming in, totally safely.
So the bottom line is that if you let irrational fears run your life, you’d never leave home, but if you don’t then you should go to Acapulco to take advantage of this crazy deal.
The resort only has 218 rooms, so it’s large enough to have all the free services of a large all inclusive hotel, but small enough that you don’t feel like you are in a vacation factory. Each room has two double beds and a private furnished balcony, plus a flatscreen TV with satellite channels. The rooms have marble floors, which alone should tell you that this is an upscale hotel that doesn’t cut corners to save every penny.
For US$173 per night for two people, you get all your food and all the drinks available, including house wine. This isn’t one of those resorts with a crowded buffet with barely edible food and a bunch of premium restaurants that are far nicer and cost extra. It’s all included here. The Verified reviews of past Expedia guests average just under 4 stars out of 5, which is very good for a resort hotel in this price range. Better still, these rates are available for December as high season is starting, so it’s an excellent value all around.
