Regular readers of this site have certainly noticed that we’ve been concentrating mostly on cheaper resorts that are offering deals lately, so today’s find will be a fun change from that. While some people are deciding between taking a cheap vacation or no vacation at all, others want an upscale trip and if they can save money in the process all the better.
So today’s deal is for a solid 4-star resort in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic that is offering 3 free nights for guests who book a week. You don’t need to be a math wiz to realize that’s almost 50% off, and that’s from their low season price.
A Preferred Club Junior or Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite at the Dreams Punta Cana all-inclusive resort for US$286 per night if you stay 7 nights.
This rate is available through Expedia, which is our booking partner, for selected dates in the coming months. It includes free cancellation and is only available for bookings of 7 or more nights.
Huge rooms and lots of luxury amenities
When you are only paying US$286 per night for two people to stay at a 4-star beach resort in the Caribbean on an all inclusive basis you’d have every reason to assume that it’s one of those giant impersonal properties with rooms the size of those on cruise ships. But this is anything but that. There are 620 rooms so this is a large resort, but each room is over 600 square feet, which is about double the size of a standard hotel room at a fancy hotel in a city.
Each room has a kingsized bed and a 29-inch flatscreen TV with premium channels, but you also get bathrobes and slippers plus free luxury soaps and other amenities that are more typical of a 5-star resort. You also have a refrigerator and coffee set, so you can sleep in late if you like and still enjoy coffee.
Punta Cana is cheap to reach as well
Getting a fabulous rate on a room is fine, but in many cases you find out that flights are very expensive and/or that the airport is a long distance from the resort. Here at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort you can fly cheaply into Punta Cana International, which is only 22 miles, and a short shuttle ride, from the airport.
This is definitely a family-friendly resort, featuring 7 restaurants, and various swimming pools suited to different age groups as well as an extensive Kids Club. The room rate also includes round the clock room service, which should be appealing to romantic couples spending the evening at the disco, or families with young ones who might be too tired to behave well in yet another restaurant.
