It’s hard to not seem too excited by this deal because it’s honestly the best one we’ve come across this year. Mazatlan has some of the finest beaches along the Pacific coast of Mexico, but because of some negative publicity that isn’t deserved, the resorts there have had to cut rates. Now during the slow season, rates are so low that you might consider spending a month there instead of just a week.
The Rui Emerald Bay Resort is a 3.5 star with 716 modern rooms that are now 66% off their normal price. The regular rate even for this summer is US$511 per night per couple on an all-inclusive basis, but right now you can get even ocean-view rooms for US$173 per night.
A Double Garden or Ocean View room for US$173 per night at the Rui Emerald Bay Resort in Mazatlan for two people, with kids staying free, on the all-inclusive plan.
This amazing rate is only available through Expedia, our booking partner, for selected dates in the coming months. The US$173 rate does not require a long stay and it comes with free cancellation so you can lock in before you are certain without risk. The rate is for a Double Garden View room, and it’s the same rate for a Double Ocean View room, which would normally be at least a US$20 per night upgrade.
High rated and amazing value
Along with its own gorgeous beach and 3 outdoor swimming pools, the Rui Emerald Bay has a great location in the Golden Zone, but this resort is more about relaxation at a great price than water sports. Normally when we see prices this low we immediately worry that it’s a dog of a resort that looks almost nothing like the pictures when you arrive. But the good news here is that this resort averages a review on TripAdvisor of 4.1 out of 5, which puts it into the top category among all resorts for guest satisfaction. Often you’ll see the cheap ones struggling to stay above 3.0, so 4.1 is fantastic.
Each room is air conditioned (of course) and has a balcony, a flat-panel TV, a minibar, and even a laptop-compatible in-room safe. The all-inclusive plan here includes not only drinks in the bar, but the alcohol they load daily into your own minibar. There are four restaurants and a nightclub at the hotel, and nothing costs extra, so you can leave your wallet in your room’s safe.
In the Caribbean a room like this would probably go for close to US$400, even during the summer months, because a good all-inclusive plan usually adds a minimum of about US$200 per person to the rate. Think about how much a couple can spend in a day on 3 meals each plus afternoon and evening drinks plus admission to a nightclub. In a resort it’s hard to spend under $200 on those things alone, so this is like getting the room and beach for free.
