Since we’ve had such a positive response to highlighting mid and upper range properties recently, we’ll do it again this week. As we’ve discussed before, if you want the cheapest all inclusive Caribbean resort you should head to Mexico or the Dominican Republic, but if you are more interested in quality you should probably go elsewhere.
The US Virgin Islands are certainly a more upscale Caribbean destination, and in the coming months you can book a very well regarded all inclusive resort there for only US$421 per night for two people. It’s on a secluded bay of its own but also convenient to many other things nearby, so it’s the best of both worlds.
A Value Room all-inclusive at the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort in St. Thomas, USVI for only US$421 per night for two people. An Oceanview Room is only US$484 per night with all inclusive, but if you prefer to buy your own meals and drinks you can stay for as little as US$154 per night.
This rate reflects a 15% discount off their already low summer rates and is only available on Expedia. There is no minimum stay required to qualify, and it includes free cancellation.
Boutique 3 star resort on a private bay
With only 62 guest rooms, the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is one of the smallest all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. It’s obviously not among the cheapest, but you must take into account that this isn’t one of those huge resorts with a massive buffet filled with mediocre foods cooked hours before. You can choose anything at either Iggies Beach Bar & Grill or The Lobster Grille, and you won’t be fighting with hundreds of others in the process.
There is also a swimming pool with a swim-up bar, and this is where the all-inclusive plan really works out well. The drinks tend to be quite expensive on an island like St. Thomas, so if you have a few beers in the afternoon it can really add up. But for the all inclusive customers you can order exactly what you want without having to worry about costs or even tipping.
Large comfortable rooms with all the amenities
Even though this is only a 3-star hotel, it feels much nicer. Each room has premium bedding, premium TV channels, a balcony, a refrigerator, and even a microwave oven if you want one. Read the reviews for the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort and you’ll see that many people come back each year because they like it so much.
St Thomas is also known as the best shopping island, plus US residents don’t even need a passport to visit. If you can afford something nicer than the bottom end resorts, this is a great one to consider.
