For reasons of scale, almost all of the best deals at all inclusive resorts are for large properties with hundreds of guest rooms, but this week we are featuring a boutique resort with only 22 rooms. The Sunset On The Cliffs Resort in Negril, Jamaica is not a posh mega-resort, though it is ideal for many people, especially with this appealing room rate.
This is one of the few Caribbean all inclusive resorts that offers both all-inclusive rates and room-only rates, so it’s ideal for groups and large families where some might prefer the package and others are better off a la carte. It’s also small enough that those booking 4 or 5 rooms might feel that they are at a private resort, which is something that usually costs many times more.
A Superior Ocean Front Queen or two Doubles at the Sunset On The Cliffs Resort in Negril, Jamaica, for US$270 per night. The same room goes for only US$95 per night for the room alone.
This rate is available through Expedia, our booking partner, and it includes free cancellation. There is no minimum stay required to qualify for this promotional rate, so it’s good even for a long weekend, though availability is limited so booking early is best.
A boutique all-inclusive experience
If you are the type who prefers staying in a 15-story hotel with 500 rooms, you have plenty of options in the Caribbean, including many in Jamaica itself. But those who prefer to stay in a smaller resort are more limited, so this cheap rate really stands out. With only 22 rooms, this is one of the smallest all inclusive resorts anywhere in the world.
There’s a restaurant and a swimming pool, but not much else other than great views from this cliff-side location. When you have only 22 rooms you aren’t able to offer endless daytime activities, but since most people come to the Caribbean come to just relax in the warm breezes, that should be just fine for many people.
The rooms here aren’t huge or fancy, though they do come with HBO on the TV plus air conditioning and a patio with ocean views. Again, if you need a Jacuzzi bathtub on your vacation you can find it nearby, but it will cost you two or three times as much per night.
Ideal for teetotalers and groups
For many people, choosing an all-inclusive hotel for a group vacation is like going to a restaurant and then splitting the bill evenly at the end. If you don’t drink alcohol or if you ordered a cheap menu item, you feel cheated when you are expected to pay for booze hounds who ordered the prime rib.
So if you are a couple who prefers to eat lightly and have no more than one or two drinks each day, you’ll be able to book a room here for only US$95 per night, while your daily expenses should be under US$100 for both of you. And your friends and family members who like to get drunk in the afternoon and again at night can save money by going for the all-inclusive route. This is not common on Jamaica, so the Sunset On The Cliffs Resort is a real winner for groups like this.
