Royal Solaris Cancun is an all-inclusive resort and spa on a marina, in the southern part of this Mexican city. This area is in the Cancun Hotel Zone, which is a slit of land that is bound by a lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. At night, many restaurants, bars and clubs are open. This resort is a little over a mile from the El Ray Mayan ruins and Parque Nizuc/Wet ‘n Wild water parks. Some other nearby attractions include Playa Delfines, Luxury Avenue and La Isla Shopping Mall.
People who wish to fly into Cancun and stay at Royal Solaris should buy tickets to the nearest airport, Cancun, Quintana Roo International. It is located about six miles away from the resort.
Royal Solaris Resort is on a stretch of beach, and also contains an outdoor swimming pool. There are four on-site restaurants, as well as four bars. A health-and-beauty spa is located on these grounds, as is an air-conditioned fitness center.
The kids’ club at this resort offers a 6,324-square-foot recreation area for playing. Supervised activities for children include video games, arts and crafts and painting lessons. There is also a miniature water park that features a children’s pool, three water slides and a themed aquatic area. This club is open during different hours, depending on the season.
As for adults, there are daily activities like pool aerobics, bingo, contests, fashion shows, cooking lessons and athletic competitions. At night, there is an assortment of entertainment programs, which range from Mexican night to lip sync to retro party. The staff also offers complimentary one-way transportation to the nightlife area in Cancun.
Additional resort amenities include computer rental, computer station, internet point, currency exchange, luggage storage, television in lobby, available limo or town car service, on-site shopping, on-site car rental, laundry facilities, dry cleaning, patio, garden, air-conditioned public areas, pool table, multilingual staff, 24-hour front desk help, bellhop, security guard, tours/ticket assistance, available medical assistance, elevator, room service (limited hours), snack bar/deli, ballroom(s), conference center, business services, audio-visual equipment, express check-in, express check-out, wedding services, exhibit space, beach/pool umbrellas and free parking.
There are a total of 300 guestrooms at Royal Solaris Cancun Resort, which are set up in two sections. One of the sections is a tower, while the other resembles a seaside village with courtyards. Some rooms come with balconies or terraces, while some do not. Inside, the guestrooms contain 21-inch televisions with satellite programming, clock radios, CD players, direct-dial phones and safes (surcharge). There are two nonsmoking floors that are available on request.
The guestrooms also feature blackout drapes, desks, wake-up calls, voice mail, complimentary toiletries, hair dryers, fax machines and daily housekeeping. Rollaway beds and cribs can be provided. Some services available for surcharge are in-room childcare and in-room massage.
When guests pay the room rate at Royal Solaris Cancun Resort, they will not be charged extra for the vast majority of food at meals at the on-site restaurants. Most beverages at the restaurants and bars are also included, as are anytime snacks at the two snack bars. Continental breakfast room service is covered, as are all taxes and gratuities.
Children are free to engage in activities at the Kids’ Club, and there are different services depending on their age. Adults can also watch or participate in the assortment of entertainment programs for no additional cost.
Guests are allowed to participate in several water sports, as well as rent equipment, under the all-inclusive plan. These include snorkeling, aqua aerobics, beach games, water polo, pedal boats, kayaks, windsurfers, scuba diving demonstration, pool volleyball, swimming contest and use of pool. As for land sports, guests can play ping pong, work out in the fitness center or go on bicycle tours for no additional cost. Exercise classes, Spanish lessons and Latin-style dance classes are also covered.

Some features that are excluded from the all-inclusive package include imported wines and liquors; select menu items like lobster or steak; babysitting or nanny services; massages and beauty salon treatments and services; optional or outside tours and excursions; incidental purchases; telephone, fax and internet access charges; laundry and dry cleaning; and video and photo services.
