The Caves is a small adults-only, all-inclusive resort on Jamaica’s western coast. It is set up on secluded cliffs south of Negril’s beach resort areas. The Negril area is known to be a small beach town that is widely dispersed and fairly undeveloped. This resort is close to some tourist attractions, such as Negril Lighthouse, Seven Mile Beach and Negril Hills Golf Club.

For visitors who wish to fly into Jamaica and stay at The Caves, the recommended airport is Sir Donald Sangster International. It is located about 34 miles away, in Montego Bay.

The Caves is an open-air resort that is set up on secluded cliffs. It offers access to the sea via cliff-side paths and jumping-off spots. For dining options, the menu at this resort changes daily, but guest requests can be accommodated. For a surcharge, guests may enjoy massages or spa treatments in the open-air, clifftop, sea-view gazebo that contains two beds. There is also a nearby building with a sauna, two beds, dressing bench and bathrobes. Toward the other end of the resort, there is a candle-lit, grotto-like room built into a cliff. It contains a four-person jetted tub, bench and sunset-view window. The resort computer is available for email from 5-8 PM (subject to change). Shuttle vans and private cars of varying prices are also available.

Some other resort amenities include small swimming pool, concierge services, room service (limited hours), self parking, business services, front desk (limited hours), bellhop, security guard and wedding services.

The guestrooms at The Caves are suites set up in two-story, wood-and-stone buildings with thatched roofs. They are not air-conditioned (except downstairs suites), and do not have televisions, unless requested. They are not air-conditioned, but come with ceiling fans to cool off. These rooms also contain CD players, incense and fresh flowers. Their bathrooms come with shower/tub combinations, hair dryers, complimentary toiletries and bathrobes. The in-room refrigerators are stocked with water, beer and soft drinks.

Some additional room amenities include dial-up internet access, coffee/tea maker, wake-up calls, in-room safe, daily housekeeping, clock radio and opening window. Smoking is permitted in the rooms.

The Caves is a small resort that can accommodate no more than 24 guests. People must be at least 16 years old to stay at this resort.

What’s included

When guests book a room at The Caves, they will no be charged extra for the no-menu meals at the resort’s two restaurants. They will also be treated to one private, candlelit dinner per stay. Guests can drink complimentary unlimited domestic- and international-brand drinks. They can also enjoy all-inclusive room service during certain hours, or drink the items in their room refrigerators. Taxes and gratuities are also covered.

As for all-inclusive sport options, guests are free to use kayaks, snorkeling gear and floats, along with the swimming pool, spa tub, chairs and towel service. They can also rent bicycles or use the sauna for no extra cost.

What’s not included

Some features that are not covered by the all-inclusive package include premium wines; food and drink at adjoining restaurant/bar, The Sands; airport transfers; taxes; spa treatments and massage; optional or outside tours and excursions; telephone and fax charges; and laundry.
