Riu Guanacaste is an all-inclusive resort that sits on the beach of Matapala, Costa Rica. It is within the sparsely-populated Guanacaste province, which is in the northwestern part of the country, along the Pacific Coast. This area has recently grown into a tourist destination, due to its natural beauty. Guanacaste is best to visit during the sunny dry season, which actually coincides with the winter months in the northern latitudes. There are several national parks in this region, along with an abundance of beaches. Though this resort is remotely located, it is possible for guests to go on a variety of excursions and explore the local nature.
